Before you play: By participating in any of Wild Jack Poker’s games, you agree that you have read and understood both the general game rules and the individual house rules laid out in this website. Upon joining a game, you are bound to abide by all of the rules. For a complete list, please see below. General Rules
The rules described below are unique to Internet poker. They are not specific to Wild Jack Poker. However, all Wild Jack Poker players are bound to abide by them. All Actions Stand
You may choose your action in a game by clicking on its corresponding button. Once you have done so, your action is deemed final and cannot be reversed.
Coffeehousing
Player chat that intentionally misleads or manipulates other players is forbidden under the Coffeehousing rule. Chat that may influence the game’s play or outcome is also banned under this rule.
Slow Play
If you do not respond when it is your turn to play, the following rules apply:
- If you haven’t yet placed a bet, you will be given 10 seconds to respond. After your time expires, your hand will fold automatically.
- If you have placed your bet, you will be given 20 seconds to respond. After your time expires, your hand will fold automatically or will be considered all-in. Read more about this type of restriction in the following section.
Please note that players who engage in repeated slow play may be removed from the table at the discretion of the House.
Disconnections
If you are disconnected from the game during play, the following rules apply:
- The table number is noted in the Game History section of the screen. To learn more about leaving and returning during a game, please read more about leaving and returning.
- Should the disconnection occur during the play of a hand in which you have not placed a bet, your hand will fold after 10 seconds.
- Should the disconnection occur during the play of a hand in which you have placed a bet, you will be given 30 seconds to reconnect to the game. After your time expires, you will be considered all-in and will not be permitted to rejoin the game.
Please note that players are limited in the number of times that they can call all-in in a 24-hour period. When you exceed this limit, your hand will be folded and the money you contributed to the pot will be forfeit.
Players are responsible for monitoring their all-in status. Upon reaching the all-in limit, you must request the limit to be reset:
- Right-click on the game table graphic.
- Select “Request all-in reset” from the pop-up menu. Your limit will automatically reset to the default.
Language
Wild Jack Poker currently offers an English site only. All player communication must be in English.
No obscene, abusive or offensive language will be permitted in the poker room. If you use such language you face the consequence of being removed, suspended or banned from the poker room. In addition, your hand will fold and your contributions to the pot will be forfeited. The House is at discretion to decide what constitutes obscene, abusive and offensive language.
Playing at More than One Table
You are permitted to play at multiple tables simultaneously at the discretion of the House. In doing so, you will be bound by the following rules:
- The House will monitor multiple-table players to ensure that they are not causing slow play. If the House determines that your playing at multiple tables is resulting in slow play, you will be forced to play at one table.
- As a multiple-table player, you are fully responsible for all errors that you make. You may not use distraction or confusion as excuses for any errors and are encouraged by the House to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of multiple-table play before engaging in such an activity.
Individual Play
Poker is not a team game. Each player must play as an individual without the aid or cooperation of other players.
Minimum Buy-in
The minimum buy-in for any game is calculated as 10 times the amount of the smallest bet. For example, the minimum buy-in in a $3/$6 game would be $30.
Table Stakes
Each game has a high bet and a low bet. e.g., in a $3/$6 game, $3 is the low bet and $6 is the high bet.
Please note that you are not permitted to increase your bet while a hand is in play.
Leaving and Returning
If you leave a game and return to it in under sixty minutes, you will begin the new game having the same stakes as when you left.
Please note that if you leave the game to play in another game, which you lose, you are permitted to return to the original game and play at a lower limit bet. For more information, please refer to the following section.
All-in
If you lack the required amount of chips to bet during a hand, you will be excused from placing the full bet amount. Instead, you will be forced to put all of your remaining chips into the pot, hence the name, all-in. You will then play for a pot amount that is proportional to your contribution. Play will continue among the other players, with all bets being put into a side pot in which the all-in player has no share.
Please remember that you are limited to the amount of all-ins that you are permitted to call during a 24-hour period. Please click here to learn how to request additional all-ins.
Checks and Raises
Checks and raises are allowed in all games.
Bets and Raises
Once the betting has been capped, raises will not be allowed. You will only be permitted to call or fold.
When there are only two players remaining, or if the game is 1-on-1, only eight bets per betting round will be allowed.
Blinds and Posts
Game play starts with blind bets. The player on the left of the dealer posts what is called a small blind. The small blind is calculated as half of the lower betting limit. Next, the player to that person’s left posts what is called the big blind. The big blind is a full bet at the lower betting limit, e.g., in a $3/$6 game, the small blind would be $1.50 and the big blind would be $3.
When you enter a game, you can either post immediately or wait for the big blind. If you wait, you will only receive cards when it is your turn to post the big blind. If you post immediately, you will bet the equivalent of a big blind and receive cards immediately.
Big blinds and posts are both considered live blinds. When a new player posts the equivalent of a big blind, the player who posted the small blind has to equalize the betting.
If you sit out of a game and wish to return, you must wait for your turn to post a big blind before you can receive cards. Alternately, you can post a big blind and a small blind together to receive cards immediately.
Please note that when you post two blinds, only the big blind will be live. The small blind will be placed in the pot.
Exposing Hands at Showdown
All active hands will be displayed at the showdown, excepting situations where a player has clicked the "Muck Losing Hands" option.
Any player can view all the called hands at the showdown in the PlayCheck readout.
Players who win the pot without having a showdown can choose to show or muck their hand. Winning hands that are mucked cannot be seen on the PlayCheck readout.
Sitting Out
If you click the Sit Out button, you will be permitted to leave the game for a short period of time. If you sit out for more than 15 minutes, or if you miss two rounds of blinds, you will be ejected from the game.
Rake
Wild Jack Poker takes a certain amount of money for acting as a mediator for players. This amount is called the rake.
A hand is considered a raked hand when a player is dealt cards in a hand and the pot is raked a minimum of $0.25. Check out our Rake Structure for the complete breakdown.
